My Journey: From the Philippines to America
Growing up in the Philippines, I learned to see the world through a lens of wonder and respect for nature. Before I was sourcing vintage Louis Vuitton or authenticating Chanel bags, I was a mountain hiker, deep diver, and cave spelunker. I learned early that nature rewards respect.
High on a mountain ridge, standing above a sea of clouds humbles you. I felt the freedom of perspective, the quiet power of scale.
Under the waves, as a deep diver, I learned to move slowly and listen to the body’s rhythm. Being underwater in complete silence teaches you presence.
Exploring caves, I learned that every path matters and every choice forward changes what you see next.
When I moved to the United States, I saw something that surprised me: a culture of accumulation, where space is lived in but items are often unused, forgotten, or discarded. That realization shifted everything. It reshaped not just how I travel, but how I shop, how I live, and how I help others do the same.
Travel can be transformative, not just for the body and soul, but for how we think about what we bring along. In recent travel trends, thrift-based souvenir hunting dubbed “thrift-tripping” is rising, as travelers seek experiences that reflect local culture and sustainability. From Healthcare to Handbags (The Plot Twist)
In the fast-paced world of healthcare, I spent years saving lives as a Doctor of Physical Therapy. I loved caring for people, but my heart was always pulled toward timeless fashion, beautiful craftsmanship, and intentional living.
Nestled along the Connecticut shoreline with my husband Chris and our golden doodle, Mia (the true CEO), I started craving a slower, more meaningful way to live.
