This Winter, I had the opportunity to experience MOMIX in Litchfield County, the very place both the company and I call home.

Seeing the performance here added an entirely different emotional dimension.

There was something powerful about witnessing a world-renowned company perform in the same quiet landscapes that shaped its artistic identity.

From the first moment, the performance felt immersive and otherworldly. Dancers shifted seamlessly between human form and abstraction, becoming light, nature, movement, and illusion all at once.

What stayed with me most was not only the choreography, but the people behind it.

After the performance, I had the opportunity to meet and speak with several of the dancers and creative collaborators. Their stories were incredibly diverse, spanning countries, disciplines, and life journeys, yet each carried the same quiet devotion to their craft.

There was a shared humility and depth to their work that felt deeply human.

It reminded me that behind every moment of illusion on stage is a group of artists who are fully present, fully committed, and deeply connected to the story they are creating.
